On Saturday 29 March, Azimba First Aid Training had the pleasure of delivering a practical and engaging CPR and defibrillator training session at The Heart of Headcorn Cultural and Community Hub. The session brought together six passionate and community-minded individuals who were keen to develop their life-saving skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Throughout the morning, participants received hands-on instruction in Adult and Child CPR, as well as guidance on how to recognise cardiac arrest and respond effectively using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Everyone had the chance to practise on training manikins, helping to reinforce correct technique and build muscle memory that could one day make the difference in a real emergency.
The training was not only educational but also empowering. Confidence grew steadily as attendees became more familiar with emergency response procedures. By the end of the session, each participant had gained the knowledge and practical experience needed to respond quickly and effectively if someone collapses and stops breathing.
Importantly, sessions like this do more than teach a checklist of actions—they build a stronger, more prepared community. Knowing there are more people in Headcorn who now feel equipped to help in a cardiac emergency is a real step forward in public safety and resilience.
We would like to thank everyone who attended for their enthusiasm, focus and willingness to learn. Your commitment to supporting your community is inspiring.
